Het was in 1888 dat Lorenzo Barbera, aan de rand van Palermo, samen met zijn broer Vincenzo, zijn eigen boerderij begon die zich voornamelijk toelegde op de teelt van olijven en citrusvruchten.
Aan het hoofd van het bedrijf staat sinds 1910 Manfredi Senior, een gevorderde ondernemer die in staat is tot grote innovaties, waaronder we ons vooral de marketing van olie in glazen flessen voor het eerst ter wereld herinneren en de creatie van een "must" -olie. ongefilterd, maar ook gewoon uit de molen.
In de jaren zestig steunde Manfredi Senior zijn jonge zoon Lorenzo, bekend als Renzino, bij de leiding van het bedrijf, een man met een eclectische en briljante persoonlijkheid die zich met succes aan poëzie wijdde zonder ooit die band met het land en zijn tradities te vergeten.
Het bedrijf wordt momenteel geleid door Manfredi, de zoon van Renzino.
