An absolute Novelty of this year campaign, this Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil Ecce Oleum Centonze is a Novello olive oil obtained from the first Nocellara del Belice olives of the new harvest. Nocellara is a typical sicilian variety characterized by its medium intense flavour, its density and full bodied taste.

Fragrance:
Spicy and herbaceous, strong and persistant

Taste:
Medium fruity, round and full-bodied taste. Well balanced with tomate and sweet almond aftertaste.

Culinary use:
Thanks to its unexpected sweetness it is perfect on fish (both cooked and raw), but also on legume soups, red meat and vegetables.

Thanks to its landscape, to the centuries-old olive trees of Nocellara del Belice cultivated with organic method and thanks to the low environmental impact of its production, the Centonze farm has been declared "Slow Food Presidium of Extra Virgin Olive Oil", on May 2015. This very important award is held only by 26 olive oil farms in Italy.

Agrarisch Bedrijf Centonze - Case di Latomie

Het familiebedrijf Centonze "Case di Latomie" is gelegen in het stadsdeel Castelvetrano, op slechts 7 km afstand van Selinunte. Het bezit 37 hectare omheind land dat op biologische wijze wordt gecultiveerd.

"Case di Latomie" is een van de eerste mediterrane plaatsen waar de olijfboom zich vestide en werd verbouwd. Op in het landgoed zijn er verschillende eeuwenoude olijfbomen, waarvan er één meer dan 1200 jaar oud is, een zogenaamde 'Saraceense olijfboom'. Sommige van deze bomen zijn volledig versmolten met het tufsteen, waardoor unieke maar vooral uitzonderlijke vormen ontstaan.

Dankzij het landschap, de eeuwenoude olijfbomen van de Nocellara del Belice, die op biologische wijze worden geteeld, en dankzij de lage milieu-impact van de productie, is de Centonze-boerderij in mei uitgeroepen tot "Slow Food Presidium van Extra Vergine Olijfolie". 2015.

Deze zeer belangrijke onderscheiding is toegekend aan slechts 26 olijfolieboerderijen in Italië.
